Valentine BashOccasional Reign will be providing the music for this year's Robinson Parks Valentine Bash. Occasional Reign is a dance band that has been providing first class quality entertainment in the tri-state area for over 25 years. This is an evening of fun for adults, but it may just bring the kid out in you. Bring your sweetie or just come with friends. Admission is $5 per person in advance or $7 at the door. Don't miss an evening of fun with friends and neighbors. Your admission will also enter you to win great prizes.

Robinson Citizen's Police Academy

The Township of Robinson is offering a Citizen's Police Academy. The program is designed to give the average citizen a better understanding of the criminal justice system along with the role police officers play in the community. The Citizen's Police Academy is scheduled on Thursdays, starting on February 18 through March 24. Each class will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will be held at the Robinson Township Municipal Building, 1002 Church Hill Road. Students are presented with information on several key law enforcement topics, such as police training, patrol responsibilities, community-oriented policing (COPS), homicide investigations, narcotics investigations, and the role of the court system, use of force issues, evidence collection, and other areas. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a "ride along" program with an officer upon successful completion of the Citizen's Academy.

Requirements:
  1. Must be 18 years of age or older.
  2. Are subjected to a criminal history/background check.
  3. Must be free from any illegal drug use.
  4. Reside or work in the Township of Robinson.

The Citizen's Police Academy is conducted for informative and educational purposes only. It does not qualify students to become a police officer under the training requirement set forth by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Municipal Police Officer's Education and Training Commission (MPOETC).

Township of Robinson Civil Service Commission

The Civil Service Commission of the Township of Robinson, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, is conducting examinations for the position of part-time and full-time police officers. The Township may hire full-time police officer(s). Applicants must: be certified to act immediately as an active police officer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, including successful completion of what is commonly referred to as Act 120 training; possess a high school diploma or equivalent; possess a current valid driver’s license; be a citizen of the United States; and be at least 21 years of age. Applications can be obtained at the Office of the Township Manager, Robinson Township Municipal Building, 1000 Church Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15205, phone 412-788-8120.

The Office of the Township Manager must receive fully completed application, along with all required documents, no later than February 15, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. No late or incomplete applications will be accepted. An application fee of $50.00 must be paid to the Township at the time of filing the application.

Robinson Shelter Reservations for 2016


Shelter reservations for the 2016 season started being taken on January 4th, 2016. Robinson residents reserving in person at the Robinson Township Municipal Building, 1000 Church Hill Road will get first priority. Proof of residency is required. Administration Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
