On April 16 Robinson Township, in partnership with Giant Eagle Market District, held their third annual Clean Up Day. As a proud sponsor, Giant Eagle Market District provided t-shirts, a place for everyone to gather and a continental breakfast.
Members of Union Church Youth Group, Robinson Christian School, students from Holy Trinity and Montour came out to volunteer. Mother and daughter Lisa and Vanessa Kessel, employees from Settlers Ridge Courtyard Marriott and Giant Eagle Market District were among the adult groups to volunteer. Doug Legursky, center for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and his wife Megan chipped in. John Lynn, resident of Robinson, has been in attendance every year and his enthusiasm confirms how important it is to be involved.
Township officials Dan Tallon, Ron Shiwarski, Jess Forquer and wife Diane, planning board member Earl Mapel with wife Joan and daughters Joanna and Andie, representatives from the parks board Jane Tallon, Norma Rozman with husband Steve, daughter Natalie and son Joey by her side pitched in. Public Works Foreman Joe Bonkowski, several members from the staff of Robinson REMS and Chief Michael Nemec, Alex Nemec, Erica Hamilton, Amy Hamilton, Sandy Havern, Office Manager, and Sean Lewis.
Office personnel were Planning Secretary Pat Webster, Special Projects Coordinator Neel Cherukuri, and Township Manager and coordinator of this event, Aaron Bibro. More than six truckloads of trash were collected! A big thank you goes out to everyone who gave of their time and their Saturday morning to help to make this a success.
